The plates in this portfolio were made from figures illustrating surgical techniques in a medical manual from the beginning of the twentieth century.  ; the choice of engravings fell on those showing hands or surgical instruments. a digital collage allows them to be mixed and to propose, while preserving the iconographic codes of these images, different possible constructions of the body.

The rearrangement here plays with the aesthetic of the surrealist collage which belongs to the same period. Real documents are used to produce fictitious images which question didactic forms; they are disturbed by their very assembly, no longer knowing which element still belongs to the surgical lesson when together they unveil a chimerical body.
